“America’s nonprofit sector continues to grow faster than its business sector or its government” stated a new report, The Nonprofit Almanac 2008, recently published by the UI Press.
The report was summarized well here by the Philanthropy Journal which included the amazing statistic that over the last decade, total giving by individuals, corporations and foundations more than doubled, reaching $295 billion in 2006, with individuals giving $245.8 billion in donations and bequests.
